Beacon Simulator

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon simulator.

This app transforms your Android device into a virtual BLE beacon advertiser and transmitter. You can create your own collection of beacon configurations and use them anytime, anywhere, to emulate a physical beacon.

Its purpose is essentially to help developers working on beacon software with more flexibility than with some real beacons.

Current features:

- Broadcast and advertise iBeacon, AltBeacon, Eddystone

- Eddystone support for: URL, UID, unencrypted TLM (telemetry), EID (Ephemeral ID)

- Create, edit, manage and save your beacon configurations

- Background broadcast

- Scan of nearby beacons, copy of their configuration

- Check tool to know how many broadcast is possible on your phone

- In English and French

Android limitations:

- the MAC address is automatically managed by Android, and will change for each new EID rotation

- not possible to broadcast several different frames with a same MAC address

- broadcast capability depends on your phone, you can use the check tool to know what is possible for you

Other limitations:

- TLM data are static in time

- Scan is not a main feature of the app for now, just an helper

Permissions are for:

- bluetooth: scan, broadcast using Bluetooth

- location: unfortunately, required by Android to perform a Bluetooth scan

- internet: for log collection in case of crashes and statistics about usage

Questa applicazione trasforma il vostro dispositivo Android in un inserzionista faro BLE virtuale e trasmettitore. È possibile creare la propria collezione di configurazioni Beacon e li usa sempre e ovunque, per emulare un faro fisico.

Il suo scopo è essenzialmente quello di aiutare gli sviluppatori che lavorano su software faro con maggiore flessibilità rispetto ad alcuni fari reali.

Caratteristiche attuali:

- Broadcast e pubblicizzare IBeacon, AltBeacon, Eddystone

- Supporto per Eddystone: URL, UID, in chiaro TLM (telemetria), EID (Ephemeral ID)

- Creare, modificare, gestire e salvare le configurazioni Beacon

- Trasmissione Contesto

- Scansione di fari vicine, copia della loro configurazione

- Strumento di verifica per sapere quanti trasmissione è possibile sul telefono

- In inglese e francese

Limitazioni Android:

- L'indirizzo MAC è gestito automaticamente da Android, e cambierà per ogni nuova rotazione EID

- Non è possibile trasmettere diversi fotogrammi diversi con uno stesso indirizzo MAC

- Capacità di trasmissione dipende dal telefono, è possibile utilizzare lo strumento di controllo per sapere ciò che è possibile per voi

Altre limitazioni:

- I dati TLM sono statici nel tempo

- Scan non è una caratteristica principale della app, per ora, solo un aiutante

Le autorizzazioni sono per:

- Bluetooth: scansione, trasmesso tramite Bluetooth

- Posizione: purtroppo, richiesto da Android per eseguire una scansione Bluetooth

- Internet: per la raccolta dei log in caso di incidenti e statistiche sull'utilizzo
